This is a first run Ernie Ball Music Man JPX 7 with a low serial number (52 or 56 made from the first batch). BFR (Ball Family Reserve) means it’s from the custom shop and was made to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the John Petrucci signature model. Later year versions of this were just normal production models. Has two clear, high definition pickups and a floating tremolo. Has a piezo system that can be ignored if you don’t care for that kind of thing. Can play about anything. 25.5” scale. Thin but wide neck that still has enough heft to hold on to. Locking tuners. Ebony fretboard, 24 frets. All black coated nickel hardware. Frets are stainless steel or nickel. Has a mahogany neck, an alder or swamp body wings, and the center body is mahogany with a maple top. Two output jacks for piezo only or electric plus piezo. Standard volume, tone, and blend knob with a 5-way switch. Finish is a color changing reddish-purple that goes from black to bright metallic purple when hit with a direct light. American made from the Ernie Ball custom shop.
